There is a serial number break for these models, but you can tell the difference simply by verifying the number of drive teeth and bolt holes on your existing sprocket. This sprocket has sixteen teeth with eight bolt holes and the newer generation has seventeen teeth. The latest generation has seventeen drive teeth with twelve bolt holes so you must verify prior to ordering.
