Clip-On Rubber Pad Advantages

The Clip-On style rubber pad is designed for short-term projects when installation time is more of a priority. If you need rubber pads for a long-lasting project then it is worth the extra time to use the four-bolt style traditional rubber pad. The Clip-On style rubber pads have easily accessible bolts from the side, but these can be susceptible to damage via curbs, so consider your job site prior to deciding which rubber pad design is best for your excavator.

Clip-On Pad Installation

Clip-on Pad Installation

The image shows you how the two bolts install easily from the side of the steel grouser. The clip slides on the grouser from the outside and you secure both bolts for a perfect fit and reliable installation when your excavator is called into action on a street or finished surface. The clip-on rubber pads are designed for quick installation and removal, typically for temporary job sites that require protection so your steel tracks do not damage the surface. If you are looking for a more permanent type of installation, we also have bolt-on and roadliner-type hybrid rubber pads for most makes and models.

Clip-On Rubber Pads are most commonly used when the existing triple grousers do not have pre-drilled bolt holes to mount the bolt-in pads. This option is very easy to take on and off. To install, simply unbolt one side of the pad, slide onto the triple grouser shoe, and bolt the clasp back onto the rubber pad. When you order online, we include the bolts and washers required for installation.

Replacement Rubber Pad FAQ

We carry Bolt-on, Clip-on, and Roadliner rubber pads for the Komatsu PC40-PC58MR.

Depending on your existing set up you should read each option in detail. Bolt-on is the best long-term solution if existing bolt holes are drilled into your steel tracks. Clip-on is designed for steel tracks without pre-drilled holes. If you are starting from scratch, you can skip the steel grouser entirely and choose the Roadliner pads that bolt securely down the center of the pad, directly to the drive chain.

Steel tracks offer a modular solution to extreme-duty jobs sites that may do extensive damage to a standard rubber track. If a steel track is damaged you can replace the individual pad or steel grouser. If a rubber track is cut deeply there is no way to repair the track. Steel tracks and rubber pads offer flexibility from extreme-duty demolition jobs with removable rubber pads that can be added as needed to cross concrete and finished surfaces without causing damage.
