This is the premium aftermarket tension idler for the following Yanmar mini excavator models:
If your track appears to be stretching or falls off when you are turning, then it is a good indication that your idler is worn out. At first glance, the idler appears to be in good condition but when you compare how deep a new idler sets into the guide system you realize that the flange that sets into the track guiding system might be worse than you first thought. Rubber tracks are continuously wrapped with steel cords so they do not stretch during normal operation more than the tensioner can adjust out. The reason the tensioners are there is to tighten the track over the course of your undercarriage wear. Sprocket wear, track link wear, and idler wear all add up to several inches of slack in the rubber track. At a certain point of wear the parts have to be changed. We do not suggest replacing a sprocket on a worn track but replacing the tension idler can bring several inches of tension back to your undercarriage.
There is one tension idler per side on your Yanmar VIO20-2 and -3 series mini excavator.
There are several newer sub-series of VIO-20 models so if your model is newer than a -3 series then please verify with us prior to ordering online.
